If you would like to arrange a funeral service at St Michael’s then please ring your chosen Funeral Director who will make contact with the Rector or the parish office on your behalf and make the initial arrangements. The Rector will then arrange to meet with you to discuss your requirements including hymns and/or music, readings and any other special requests.
St Michael’s Churchyard is a ‘closed churchyard’ for burials, but we can arrange for ashes to be interred in our remembrance garden area. Do please note that no new headstones or markers can be placed in the churchyard area, but names can be added to the remembrance book on display in church. In some cases, ashes can be interred into existing graves within the churchyard on arrangement. Southwick cemetery, located between Downsway and Overhill, is the nearest available cemetery for burials. If you would like to arrange a burial of ashes in St Michael’s Churchyard then please contact the parish office.
