St Michael’s Churchyard

20140520_092429

Saint Michael’s is a ‘closed churchyard’, which means that there are no more burials except interment of ashes in either existing graves or into our Garden of Remembrance.  Additional headstones, kerb stones or stone tablets are not permitted in the churchyard apart from the replacement and refurbishment of existing ones. Permission from the Rector and PCC must be obtained for any such replacements and refurbishments. Please contact the parish office if you wish to enquire about burial of ashes or refurbishment of headstones.

Saint Michael’s PCC will not allow other objects to be placed either on the graves or in the graveyard such as:

– railings, chippings, statues, keepsakes, children’s toys,

artificial flower or foliage and items of furniture.

DSC_0010In early November, Saint Michael’s holds an All Soul’s Remembrance service where it is hoped that people can come together with others, in the supportive environment of their local parish church and remember their loved ones in prayer and with thanksgiving.
